The flat cap has its roots in British law. In 1571, Parliament decreed that all non-noblemen and boys over the age of six must cover their heads with wool caps on Sundays and holidays. Anyone found walking about without a wool cap on Sunday would be slapped with a three shillings fine !

with that bit of history in mind we set out to make the most traditional cap we could, with superior cotton linning and a traditional wide angle brim we have acheibved a result that is very much in line with the flat caps history. Go about our day knowing that if you were in the 16th century, you would have avoided that fine !
